Honeymooning.

I don't have my dress completed (although I do have my final fitting tonight!), and Brian hasn't picked out his European gray suit yet, and we haven't sent out announcements, and we're still figuring out the photographer (almost figured out!) or the band or the food or his ring or where we're living after we're married, but we sure did just buy two tickets for a seven-day New England-Canada cruise!!

I have a long history of vacationing via cruise. My dad has this sweet gig (well, sweet for spouse and kids) that enables him to bring his emergency room doctor skills onto a cruise ship and be the passenger doctor. Depending on the size of the ship he's working for, he can take some family members along with him for free. So ever since I was in 5th grade, we've been going on one or two cruises a year. I openly admit I'm the most spoiled Earnshaw daughter. My favorite was definitely to Baja Mexico with Lindblad Expeditions; just me and Dad cruising the birthing grounds for humpback and sperm whales. Amazing.

A couple summers ago, when Brian and I first started dating, I went on a cruise from Boston to Montreal with my parents, brother, and grandparents. I remember wishing so bad that Brian was there. So when Brian was skeptical about the option of going on a cruise for our honeymoon, I was quick to reassure him that this is the kind of trip I'd been wanting to take with him for a long time.
On top of the boat, so windy
formal night
So we got the tickets! We'll be aboard the MS Veendam in Boston Harbor by 4 p.m. on June 15th, and then we'll stop in Bar Harbor, Halifax, Sydney, Charlottetown (PEI), and Quebec City, where we'll fly back to Salt Lake from on the 23rd.

We're pretty excited. Also exciting: Brian just visited! Well, he left like a week ago, but that's okay because I'm already going to see him again in eleven days! We did lots of fun things, like address announcements, play at the Nicklecade with Aaron and Mark, ski at Snowbasin and play mini-golf with the Talmages (I won), celebrate Easter with the Garcias, see Wreck it Ralph with Aaron, and generally just stay up really late. Pretty sweettttt. Brian's the best.
Snowbasin, photo cred to Talmage.
Coming soon: photographer choice, bridesmaids, Portugal with the fiance.
